Clermont, Florida

You will love historic downtown Clermont located  just a short distance from Orlando and the major attractions.  I just love the small town feel of this place.  If you are visiting the Central Florida areas be sure to put Clermont on your map.  It is packed with charm, great people and wonderful stores.  They are some of my favorites.

Not So Shabby
The owners Trish and Laura put together a beautiful store.  It is full of new items and gently used furniture and home decor.  They are always coming up with some new way to repurpose and recycle.  I've seen purses made from wool sweaters to her newest creation "Sock Fans"....
Picture
They sold out at Christmas...but a new group of Sock Fans
are back in time for Valentine's Day.

I hope you enjoy Not So Shabby.

...Next stop The Vintage View...

Picture
The Vintage View located on Montrose Street is the ideal place to find something unusual.  If you need a gift or are looking for something from the past you will want to stop here.  You never know what you might find.

I just love this vanity I saw on my last visit.

What a beautiful group of home decor.
The hutch in the back was gorgeous!

For more pictures from my visit,

Off to Finders Keepers.....

Picture
Just opening is Finders Keepers, located on Eighth Street. The store has a great little Nautical room.

Wow this was a long post...  I really am only touching the surface with shopping in the downtown historic Clermont area.  There are several more shops I stopped at today.  I'll be sure to photograph them on my next visit.  So be sure not to miss Flowers Finds on West Street.   There is a little diner on Montrose also a wine shop just in case you need a quick break...Have fun and tell them Kathy from Thrift Happy sent you!

Not So Shabby Now in Clermont

Not So Shabby's Grand Re-opening was a sight to see. I just love the new store.  From the moment you arrive you feel the charm of this place.  On the sidewalk the benches have been cushioned for that weary shopper. (or perhaps a great place for the men to wait while we shop).  The vintage double doors open to a room with exposed brick walls. The store is full with beautiful items for every decorating style.  Trish and Laura are so talented at choosing just the right items for their store.
This store is a must see!  Did I mention the prices are great!

Back to my Favorite Stores

I took a trip back to two of my favorite stores today.  Not So Shabby was my first stop.  The owner, Trish was working hard preparing for her big sidewalk sale this Saturday.    Be sure to visit her on Saturday.  I know I am!
Picture
The entrance has been redesigned.  Love the wicker chairs.  It now has that front porch feel. Complete with a little one standing on his head.  How cute!

Picture
I just loved this chair on my last visit.  I can not believe it is still here.  Surely someone will snatch this up by Saturday, especially since it is at the low price of $30.  Wouldn't this look great in my Bedroom Challenge!

Picture
Now this has to be the deal of the week.  This beautiful handmade vintage vanity....are you ready...only $99.00.  Unblievable!!!!  Why don't I have a bigger house?  It is just fantastic, three mirrors, six drawers with glass knobs.  It is to die for.  Wouldn't it look fantastic with that little blue chair?

Picture
Look at this kitty.  It is just precious.  There were several throughout the store....they look so real... you'll think you heard them purr...

I hope to see you at Not So Shabby this Saturday, Feb 6, starting at 10am, for the Sidewalk Sale.  You won't be disappointed!  So many great items at great prices.

Next Stop...

My next stop was Preloved Affordables.  The owner, Carmen has been busy.  She has reworked her store giving it a fresh new look.
Picture
She had these wonderful orchids, they have a really nice smell.   Carmen told me the exact name...but I can't remember....I have to start writing things down.   She  has great plans for the front of her store.  A few more weeks to let the weather warm up and she will planting a victorian garden.  I can't wait to see it.  She already has a wrought iron  fence up to edge the garden.  I told her she just has to plant some herbs....

Picture
Nice bench for the garden....and...look at that fan.
Picture
Carmen had just finished with this display of vintage hats when I came in today.  She is so creative.  Love the little table they are sitting on.

Picture
Great shabby chic dresser for someones bedroom!  She also had a gentleman's chest that had just come in to the store.

Not So Shabby

I will start off today by saying WOW!  "Not So Shabby" located at 2534 S. Maguire Road in Ocoee is a store to see.  It is sure to become a favorite.  The owner Trish McGuiness is a true entrepreneur.  Her positive spirit is so refreshing.  She began her retail business in a garage in New Hampshire, then to the Art District outside of Boston.   Now fortunately for us Central Floridians, she is here in Ocoee.

I think this coffee table below is great.  It should definitely be in my living room.  I am not sure if the top is marble, but it has that look.  It is creatively displayed with valentine gifts.

This large hutch has a mirrored back.  It is displayed with an assortment of milk glass.

I just had to take a picture of these little glass slippers.  They are so special.  What a unique valentine gift.  Fill them with candy or flowers for the princess in your life.
